Blade & Arrow and curly, textured haircuts
Blade & Arrow is known for cuts built around curl and texture. The salon names curly hair as a specialty, and its menu sets aside two hours for a first curly or texture haircut.
Reviewers most often describe stylists who listen closely, work well from a reference photo and blend grown-out layers or wavy hair into shapes that are easy to wear. They also mention a clean, airy space and product advice with no retail push. The salon holds a 5.0 rating across 34 Google reviews.
The pricing model is the other point reviewers raise. The salon bills by the hour at $95 to $160 depending on the stylist, says gratuity is not expected and describes its services as gender-free.
Extensions, low-toxic color and hourly booking
Beyond the cut, the salon lists custom extensions (tape-in, sew-in and K-tip), razor cutting and color from blonding to lived-in balayage. Its website states the color line is ammonia-free, PPD-free and resorcinol-free. Organic products are used for washing and styling.
Longer color work runs in blocks of four to six hours, with color correction at the top of the menu. The salon is open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm.
Berkeley homes have a median build year of 1944, per the American Community Survey (2024). The city, in Alameda County, counted 121,911 residents in 2025, per the Census Bureau.
Blade & Arrow states it is a certified green business through Alameda County and the State of California.
The salon also books vivids. Vivids without blonding fit a two-hour slot, and vivids paired with blonding take four.

I had an appt. Sarina and she took care of me. She knew I was tentative about getting highlights since I hadn’t done it before. She was really honest about much maintenance it would entail. I love the color! and it didn’t take nearly as long as I anticipated. As an added bonus I got to use the Evo scalp treatment which was some refreshing. It was only in for about 5 mins but my scalp feels amazing. It feels cleaner less built up. Like the product and so glad I was able to try it out.

I got a haircut here from Laura a few days ago, and it's literally my favorite haircut I've ever had!! I feel so much more like myself now. Laura is one of those people you feel like you've known forever instantly. Super welcoming and chill :)

I've had a tough time getting my hair cut as a man with long hair. I have gone to barbers (against my wife's advice) and they usually get side tracked and cut it all off. I booked a haircut with Nate, giving him a picture at a prompt and he nailed it. Happy to finally know where to go for my next hair cut. Edit: Went back 9 months later. Specifically booked with Nate again. He remembered me, remembered the cut I got. Nailed it again. Thanks Nate!
